For many years our rather nomadic congregation used to have the annual Carol Concert in a real barn in Cheshire, surrounded by sheep and a donkey. The smell and noises summoned up images of what it must have been like at the time of Jesus’s birth.

The logistics and effort to build the tiered seating from straw bales, set up lights and the PA system was intense, but many people enjoyed the experience over the years.

With our own building, decorated for Christmas, the physical effort is less but there is still hard work to put the programme, bringing together many familiar Carols with special items from our own church members, as well as visiting friends from other churches.
