Dear Ringway Life Building family,
As we begin the New Year of 2022, it seems almost unbelievable that we are actually entering the third year of a global pandemic. The current “variant” of the Covid-19 virus is called “Omicron” – that is, the 15th letter out of 24 of the Greek Alphabet. In this context, I would like to encourage you all with a precious message from our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, which includes the first and last letters of the Greek Alphabet:
Rev 21:5-7 (NLT): “And the one sitting on the throne said, “Look, I am making everything new!” And then he said to me, “Write this down, for what I tell you is trustworthy and true.” And he also said, “It is finished! I am the Alpha and the Omega—the Beginning and the End. To all who are thirsty I will give freely from the springs of the water of life. All who are victorious will inherit all these blessings, and I will be their God, and they will be my children.”
The Lord is clearly not talking about alphabets here… He is talking about reality. He is absolutely the beginning and absolutely the end. This precious message is consistent with the powerful OT proclamation from Isaiah 44:6 (NLT): “This is what the Lord says—Israel’s King and Redeemer, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies: “I am the First and the Last; there is no other God”.”
As 2021 ends and 2022 begins, let us be encouraged by this divine reassurance and let us continue to be there for one-another and our neighbours at these unprecedented times. I take the opportunity to thank you wholeheartedly for the duty of care shown, particularly towards our shielded and vulnerable sisters and brothers in Christ.
“May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.” (2 Cor 13:14).
